"At the start of the book, it seems like the story might be a little similar to Harry Potter, albeit from a teacher's point of view, but it quickly turns into a fantastic combination of magic and mythology. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the story and had a hard time putting it down. The blend of existing mythology and the magic system created by Arthur makes for a riveting story." Literary Titan

"I couldn't put this book down! It's such an original story that kept surprising me the deeper I got entranced by the story. I lost all sense of time reading this book, always a sign the read is a good one. I can't recommend Ariessey of Midgard highly enough and I can't wait for book two!" Amazon UK
"I really loved this book. It normally takes me a long time to read a book as get easily distracted but this was a nice easy book to read. There aren’t too many characters that it becomes confusing as I find often happens with fantasy-style books. The heroine, Ariessy, is a well rounded very likeable teenager who’s older than her years but also has a very venerable side to her, I felt like I knew her personally. The storyline is intriguing and I like that it’s a mixture of fantasy but at the same time quite real. All in all, it’s very deserving of 5 stars." Amazon UK
"Ariessy of Midgard is an emotional fantasy adventure story that expertly hits all the right notes for YA fantasy fans."

Being half-Swedish, and growing up in Shakespeare’s County, it probably isn’t a surprise that L.B. Arthur has a passion for telling stories enriched with Norse mythology. Ariessy of Midgard is Arthur’s debut novel, and it isn’t difficult to see the influence that previous careers, working for the police and hosting teenage language students has had on her writing, but she will tell you that it was raising her neuro-diverse children which has been her greatest inspiration. She enjoys creating characters who break the mould; as she says, being different is the coolest thing of all. She is a self-professed geek, when not writing, reading, spending time with the kids, or taking long walks with her retriever along the coast, you can reach her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
