Frami Books began as a collaboration between self-published authors who wanted to share our books. After Callum Knight’s book reached #1 on Amazon, we were approached by many aspiring authors asking for help with their own publishing journeys. However, we aren’t a traditional publishing house, and we didn’t have the capacity to take on projects in that way. But after much thought, we decided to set up a self-publishing service dedicated to helping authors self-publish their books while retaining 100% control and profits.
We believe that every author should have the power to publish on their own terms. Our mission is to support you in making that happen, all while ensuring you keep full ownership of your work.
We’re also proud to be neurodivergent-friendly. We understand the unique challenges that can come with communication and the overwhelm that often accompanies big projects. If you prefer to communicate via email or need any accommodations, we’re more than happy to work around your preferences. We get it, and we’re here for you every step of the way—whether you’re feeling stressed or unsure, know that we’ve been there too and we’ve got your back!
Please reach us at framibooks@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Self-publishing means that you, the author, are in complete control of your book. You handle the editing, cover design, formatting, and distribution, or hire professionals to assist with these steps. Unlike traditional publishing, where a publisher owns the rights and takes a share of the profits, with self-publishing, you retain full ownership and receive 100% of the earnings after platform fees.
The main difference is control and ownership. In traditional publishing, a publisher manages editing, marketing, and distribution, but they also own the rights to your book and take a percentage of the profits. With self-publishing, you maintain all rights and have complete control over pricing, royalties, and creative decisions.
We are not a traditional publisher, so we cannot take your manuscript and pay you to publish your work. However, we can help you through the self-publishing process like editing, cover design, formatting, and uploading to platforms such as Amazon KDP, Ingram Spark, and Bookvault. You remain in full control of your book at all times and we will support you through the process.
You may choose a range of services to help you publish your book, including:
Not at all! If you can handle certain aspects yourself or already have someone lined up to assist you, that’s absolutely fine. You can pick and choose which services you need, and we’ll support you with the rest.
Our pricing varies depending on the services you need and the complexity of your project. We offer customised quotes to ensure you get the best value for your needs. Please reach out for a personalised quote based on your specific requirements and budget.
The timeline varies depending on the services you require, your manuscript's readiness, and how quickly we can coordinate with you. Typically, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months to prepare everything for publication.
We can help you publish on a variety of platforms, including Amazon KDP, Ingram Spark, Bookvault, and more. If you’re looking to expand your reach, we can also guide you through distribution channels like Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo.
While our primary focus is on the publishing process, we offer support and guidance on marketing strategies.
Not all of it. We believe that professionals are invaluable and will find the right experts to suit your needs. Depending on your project, we may collaborate with external professionals to ensure the highest quality for your book.
We are committed to helping you create a professional-quality book. If, upon review, we feel that your manuscript is not yet ready for the publishing process, or if we are unable to source the appropriate professionals required to bring your vision to life, we will inform you as soon as possible. In such cases, we will offer guidance on how to improve your manuscript or suggest alternatives for sourcing the necessary professionals.
Simply reach out to us at famibooks@gmail.com with details about your book and the services you’re interested in. We’ll discuss your needs and provide guidance on the best next steps.
