We're perfect for:
Traditional Publishing
You submit your book. They choose whether to publish it. It's selective and difficult to break into.
You don’t pay anything up front.
You have little control over how the book looks or how it’s marketed.
They take a large cut of the profits.
You may lose some or all of your rights to the book.
Good for: Authors aiming for mass-market success who don’t mind giving up creative control.
Vanity Press
You pay them. They publish your book—no matter what.
They'll publish your book with minimal quality checks.
Limited distribution and little to no marketing support.
The focus is on selling services to authors—not selling books to readers.
Be cautious: Many authors are left with overpriced books and little to show for it.
Hybrid Publishing
They provide professional editing, cover design, and distribution.
You share the costs of production with the publisher
You keep more rights and often earn higher royalties than with traditional publishing.
Not all hybrid publishers are equal—some are just vanity presses in disguise.
Always check for transparency, clear contracts, and evidence of past success.
Good for: Authors who want quality and support without the long wait times or strict gatekeeping of traditional publishing.
Frami Press
Independent, transparent, and built for authors. At Frami Press, we do things differently. We help authors self-publish with confidence and professionalism—without the pressure, the jargon, or the upsells.
You stay in full control of your book.
You only pay for what you need (editing, formatting, design, etc.)
We guide you through the process step-by-step.
No hidden fees, no complicated contracts.
Personal support from a team that actually cares about your story
Best for: Authors who want to self-publish well, with support from people who’ve done it before.
In Summary
Traditional Publishing: You give up control and royalties, but get full publishing support (if accepted).
Vanity Press: You pay a lot, get little in return, and your book may not be taken seriously.
Hybrid Publishing: Offers quality and support, but you must choose carefully.
Frami Press: Gives you expert help, keeps you in control, and focuses on what’s best for you—not what makes us the most money.
Empowering authors with honesty, heart, and hands-on support.
No contracts. No pressure. Just real people who believe in your story.
Frami Press began with a dream—and a deep belief that publishing could be done differently.
When Callum was just 16, he wanted to publish his first book. We jumped in headfirst, learning the ropes together. That book became a bestseller in several categories on Amazon, and soon, people began reaching out for help with their own books. But we weren’t ready—yet.
And we learned the hard way. We spent money where we shouldn’t have. Made mistakes we wish we could undo. We wish we’d had more guidance, more insight, and someone to help us avoid the pitfalls. Those are the mistakes we won’t let you make.
We also heard horror stories from other authors—thousands spent on publishing packages, and unread books.
We knew there had to be a better way.
No Contracts—Ever
You don’t sign anything.
There are no binding agreements, sneaky clauses, or obligations. You're always free to walk away. We’ll never hold your book—or your trust—hostage.
Transparent, Fair Pricing
No “one-size-fits-all” packages. Pricing reflects the real work involved—100-page fiction vs. 300-page illustrated nonfiction are not the same.
100% Royalties. Always Yours.
We never take a cut. What you earn is yours to keep. Always.
Professional Standards, Personal Touch
We won’t publish anything we wouldn’t be proud to put our name on. Our feedback is honest. Our goal is to help you shine.
Support That Goes Beyond the Book
Publishing is only the beginning. We’ll help you market smartly, not expensively. Although there are no guarantees, we have a good idea what works—because we’ve done it.
We’re Authors Too
We’ve walked the same road—full of excitement, nerves, and endless questions. Frami Press exists to give authors what we once needed: genuine support, fair pricing, and professional results.
Frami Press – Real support. Real people.
No contracts. No false promises. Just your story, done right.
A Note on Copyright
You own your book the moment you write it — in both the UK and the US. It’s your work, your voice, your rights. That never changes with us.
Your Privacy
If you decide not to work with us after an initial assessment, your files will be deleted from our systems. If you do move forward, we’ll keep your files only as long as needed to support you — unless you ask us to hold on to them for future updates.
You've done the hard part!
You've taken a dream and turned it into something real. Whether it's a family memoir, a fantasy epic, or a heartfelt guidebook, it's your story — and that's something to celebrate.
But now you might be wondering…What do I do next? That depends on your goals.
Ask yourself:
Do you want a few beautiful copies to share with friends and family?
Do you want your book available only on Amazon?
Or are you planning to launch yourself into publishing as a serious, professional self-published author?
Once you've figured out your goal, your next steps become a whole lot clearer. Here's a rough guide to what happens next. Don't worry — we're here to help at every stage.
Step 1: Polish That Manuscript
Before anything else, your book needs to be edited and proofread. Even the best stories need a tidy-up. An editor will catch grammar slips, tighten your writing, and help your story shine.
This is not the stage to skip — your future readers will thank you.
Step 2: Format Like a Pro
Now it's time to make your book look like a real book.
Formatting means laying out your text so it's readable and attractive, whether it's a fantasy novel, a cookbook, or a journal. And if you need one, we can find a professional illustrator to suit your budget.
There are different formatting rules depending on your genre and your format (paperback, hardback, ebook, large print).
Step 3: Cover and ISBN = Go Time
Now for the face of your book — the cover.
A professionally designed cover is crucial. Readers really do judge books by their covers, and your design is your first impression.
Then there's the ISBN — that's your book's barcode and unique ID number.
You can use the free ISBN from Amazon if you're only publishing there (but it lists Amazon as the publisher).
If you want to sell your book more widely — in bookshops, libraries, and other platforms — you'll need to buy your own ISBN or use one from us at Frami Press.
Each format (ebook, paperback, hardback, etc.) needs its own ISBN.
Step 4: Reviews, Awards and Buzz
At this stage, you might want to:
Hire beta readers to give feedback.
Get editorial reviews to boost credibility.
Submit your book to awards.
This is all about building trust and excitement around your book. We can arrange all these services for you.
Step 5: Upload and Market Your Book
You've made it. Your book is edited, formatted, covered, and ready. Now you can:
Upload it to chosen platforms (Amazon, IngramSpark, BookVault, etc.)
Include a review if you have one.
Double-check your metadata (description, genre, keywords — so readers can find you)
Depending on your goals, you might:
Put it on pre-order to build excitement or Launch it immediately.
Plan a marketing push using social media, newsletters, or ads.
If you're planning a career in self-publishing, it's often best to wait until you have a few books ready, so your marketing goes further.
But if you're just selling through BookVault for personal use, you can skip the marketing and enjoy sharing your book with friends and family.
Ta-da! Your Book Is Ready
Whether you're printing ten copies or ten thousand, this process transforms your words into a professional book you can be proud of.
And remember — you don't have to do it all alone. At Frami Press, we love helping authors at every stage — whether you're dipping your toe in or diving headfirst into self-publishing.
